Heatwave is a group exhibition curated by Margie Sheppard and Tara Rowhani-Farid at West Gallery Thebarton. It explores ideas of long hot Australian summers past, and included artists Lucy Turnbill, Alice Blanch, Gerry Wedd, Kelly Reynolds, Mary Jean Richardson, Sue Michael, Max Callaghan, Frey Micklethwait, Brianna Speight, Rosina Possinham, Margie Sheppard and Tara Rowhani_Farid.
My work Falling Up, then down, down, down consisted of 15 porcelain budgerigars, both native and domestic, that had fallen from their perches on a summers day, too hot to survive.
